Obituary
ELKHART — Michael J. Hayes, 57, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, May 7, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after an extended illness.
He was born July 18, 1958, in Elkhart, to Edmund J. and Beverly J. Hayes.
He is survived by his mother, Beverly Hayes of Port Charlotte, Fla.; one sister, Shelly (Chris) Laughlin of Elkhart; one brother, Nicholas Hayes of Edwardsburg, Mich.; four nephews; one niece; and his loving dog, Penny.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A gathering of family and friends will be one hour prior to the 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4, celebration of life service at the Northside Baptist Church, 53198 C.R. 9, Elkhart. Pastor Carl Henry will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Elkhart County in memory of Michael.
Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is entrusted with arrangements.
