SOUTH BEND -- The family of Michael Allen Dominiak, 60, wishes to announce his passing after a two-year battle with cancer while staying at the Hospice House of South Bend.
He was a loving husband of 40 years to his wife, Willy, who resides at home, and an outstanding father to his daughters, Michele Dominiak of Washington, D.C., and Mrs. Brent (Elizabeth) Campbell of Granger. Also surviving are Mike's brother, Jim, and his sister-in-law, Linda, as well as two adoring grandchildren, Brenner (age 4) and Stella (21 months).
Mike was a lifelong resident of Elkhart and was a Concord High School graduate. He then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and management at Indiana University, where he graduated in 1974. He worked passionately as a credit manager for 39 years; most recently at Hull Lift Truck in Elkhart. He was an active member of the Elkhart Evening Optimists Club, was a Junior Achievement adviser and served on the United Way Fund Drive.
A celebration of Mike's life has been scheduled for Monday, June 5, 2006, at 2 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, 226 W. Lexington St., Elkhart. Visitation will be Sunday, June 4 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made in Michael's memory to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
