ELKHART — Melvin Ball, 53, of Elkhart, passed away at 11:25 a.m. Monday, March 16, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Jan. 9, 1962, in Greenwood, Miss., to the late Mack Sr. and Leslie (Malone) Ball.
He leaves to cherish his memory a son, Sedrick Green; sisters Vivian Daye, Lestine Banks and Diane Rogers, all of Greenwood, Delores (Dwight) Harris of Detroit, Crissie Ball of Chicago and Erma Ivy; brothers Mack Jr. (Yulanda) Ball and Carlzell Ball of Elkhart; and a host of nieces and aunts, nephews, cousins and sister-in-laws, friends and acquaintances.
Melvin was preceded in death by a sister, Jacqueline Carridine.
Melvin formerly worked as a mason tender for Almac Construction, Weaver Masonry and C&M Construction.
Home going services celebrating Melvin's life will begin at noon Saturday, March 21, at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service time. The Rev. Bryan Watkins will officiate. Burial will follow in Little Pine Cemetery.
