Obituary

ELKHART — Melba "Jean" Sipress, 85, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, at Elkhart General Hospital.

She was born Aug. 29, 1930, in Kosciusko County, to Condict E. and Marjorie Hope (Wallace) Vandermark.

On Sept. 5, 1954, she married Russell "Keith" Sipress in Leesburg.

In addition to her husband, other survivors include one sister, Eileen Vandermark of Denmark; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Marjorie Priser; and one brother, Bud Vandermark.

Jean was employed as an office manager of a wholesale appliance dealership for 18 years prior to her retirement.

She was a member of the Elkhart First Brethren Church and often volunteered in the Christ Commissary.

Jean and her husband often spent time traveling throughout the United States and abroad.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the Elkhart First Brethren Church, 24197 C. R. 16, Elkhart. Pastor Dan Herendeen will officiate. Interment will take place in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, South Bend, Wednesday, Oct. 28.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Elkhart First Brethren Church in memory of Jean.
