May Elizabeth Jones, 96, of LaGrange, IN passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Life Care Center of LaGrange.
May was born on September 19, 1924 in Wyatt, IN to the late, Eugene H.L. Muntz and Lillie B. (Strahley) Muntz. She married the love of her life, Robert H.L. Jones, on July 1, 1946 in Millersburg, IN. He passed away on August 10, 1968.
She is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her granddaughter, Jennifer L. Ball in 2018; sisters, infant Jenny B. Muntz and recently, Agnes M. Muntz on December 18, 2020.
May is survived by her children, Robert E. (Sue) Jones of LaGrange and Cynthia M. (Kevin) Loucks of Middlebury; grandson, Robert H.R. Jones of LaGrange; great grandsons, James L. Ball and Jason D. Ball; great great grandchildren, Wyatt, Issac and Miles Ball and her faithful companion, Charley the cat.
May retired from Johnnys Jewelry and was head cashier at Sears Department Store for 17 years. She faithfully served Jehovah God with unwavering faith. May was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Halls in both Bristol and later Sturgis, MI. May enjoyed gardening and playing cards. She loved to sew using the same sewing machine her husband gave her from the 1950's. She loved making "yo yo" quilts for her children and grandchildren.
A visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart followed by a graveside service starting at 10:30 am at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the funeral home requires face masks for everyone entering the building and a limit of 25 people in at once. Thank you!
