ELKHART— Maxine Norman, 70, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Elkhart General Hospital.

She was born Jan. 15, 1947, in Trenton, Tennessee, to the late Eddie Milan and Katherine (Willis) Sharp.

Surviving are her sons, Michael (Stephanie) Weakly and Willie Sharon Norman Jr. ; brothers Harold Willis and Walter Sharp Jr.; sister Betty Ruth Nolan; and grandchildren Shalyha and Devon Hunt and Laron, Kadel and Danel Weakly.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Minnie Milan and her stepfather, Walter Sharp Jr.

Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart has been assisting the family with cremation arrangements.

Maxine worked many years at AM General and Ex-Cel.

Born a consummate southern farm lady, Maxine was at her best picking greens in her garden, cooking and being the perfect hostess and caregiver for her family, friends and anyone else who found themselves as her guest.
