ELKHART -- Maureen L. Corpe, 69, of Elkhart, passed away Monday (Feb. 21, 2011) at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born Sept. 17, 1941, in Trowbridge, England, to the late Victor A. and Kathleen (Browne) Lelliott.
Surviving are a daughter, Sonya (Mike) Whiteman; sons Eric (Ann) Corpe, Andrew Corpe and Brian (Debbie) Corpe, all of Elkhart; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters Hazel (Joe) Taylor and Barbara (Jack) Elliott of England; and her former husband, Robert L. (Jean) Corpe.
Maureen formerly worked as a packer at CTS Corporation for four years and as a cutter at Gaska Tape for 22 years. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, the Rosary Society and was a volunteer at Elkhart General Hospital. She loved to shop, play board games, spend time with her grandchildren and was very proud she led her family back to Jesus.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at Billings Funeral Home, where a parish vigil service will begin at 3:30 p.m. Friends may also call half an hour prior to the 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. The Rev. Bill Sullivan will officiate, with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
Memorials may be given to the church.
