ELKHART — Matthew Curtis "Matt" Freeman, 36, of Elkhart, passed away Monday, Sept. 7, in his residence.
He was born July 9, 1979, in Richmond.
Survivors include his mother, Patricia M. Langston of Elkhart; stepfather Richard I. May of Elkhart; two daughters, Kaydence Marie Freeman of Elkhart and Hailey Marie Freeman of Middletown; four sisters, Kathy (Tagg) Anderson of Lakeview, Ohio, Kelly Downton and Christy DeVore, both of Indianapolis, and Rachel May of Rockford, Ill.; grandmother Margaret Scales of Richmond; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Matt was recently employed with Lozier Store Fixtures in Middlebury.
He was a courageous cancer survivor who loved his daughters and was a loving son to his mother.
Matt often enjoyed spending time fishing and being outdoors.
He will be greatly missed by everyone who ever knew him.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Cremation will follow at Altera Cremation Services.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family to help assist with the education of his daughters.
