ELKHART — Mary Elizabeth Wacholz, 67, of Elkhart, passed away Monday, May 7, 2012, at the Elkhart Hospice House.
She was born March 30, 1942, in Chicago, to William J. and Helen G. (Feery) Murphy. On Oct. 23, 1965, she married Frederick M. Wacholz in Chicago. In 1974, she moved with her family to Whitehall, Mich., where she lived for 36 years.
In addition to her husband of 46 years, survivors include two daughters, Christine Wacholz of Boyne City, Mich., and Julie (Tony Hamman) Ross of Elkhart; son August (Karla) Wacholz of Montague, Mich.; sister Patricia (William) Brown of Hometown, Ill.; and seven grandchildren, Allan, Beau, Carter, Macey and Nora Wacholz, all of Montague, Mich., and Emily and Anna Ross of Elkhart.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Murphy.
A gathering of family and friends as well as a celebration of life service will be held Sunday, May 27, 2012, from 1:30 until 4:30 p.m. at the Whitehall Township Hall, 7644 Durham Road, Whitehall.
