Mary Ann Veronica Osuch, 83, of Elkhart, went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at her home.
Mary Ann was born on February 9, 1941 in Chicago, IL to Chester J. Osuch and Genevieve (Shimanis) Osuch. Mary Ann married the love of her life, Lawrence "Larry" Kruse on November 11, 1978 in Elkhart. He passed away on October 29, 2017.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by her brother, Jerome Osuch and sister, Lorraine Sikocinski.
Mary Ann is survived by her nieces, Carole Becerril and Michele Melanson; nephews, Johnathon Angels, Edward (Nancy) Osuch; great nieces, Cynthia Becerril, Portia Osuch; great nephew, Logan Osuch; great great nephews, Gabriel Ressler, Rafael Ressler, Uriel Ressler and Cooper Hammond and sister-in-law, Janine Osuch.
Mary Ann studied extensively throughout her life. She was very proud of her professional accomplishments. Mary Ann earned a Bachelors of Science Degree from DePaul University in 1962 as well as a Ph.D in Biochemistry from Northwestern University in 1967. Mary Ann held various positions in development, marketing and production including Director of International Manufacturing. She retired from Miles Laboratories in 1996.
In Virginia, Mary Ann was an Associate Professor in Chemistry at Shenandoah University from 1996 to1997. She was also a stock and bond broker for Prudential Services from 1998 to 1999.
In 1967, Mary Ann moved from Chicago to Elkhart after completing her Ph.D.
Mary Ann was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Elkhart. She was an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion at various parishes for over 35 years.
Where there was water, Mary Ann could be found. Every home she lived was by the water. In her earlier years, she enjoyed going out on her boat. Mary Ann was an avid gardener and proud of her tomatoes.
Mary Ann was a devoted Catholic whom influence affected her family beliefs. She was generous and kind and will be greatly missed.
A Visitation for family and friends will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, October 21, 2024 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 where a Rosary will prayed at 7:30 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1405 N. Main St., Elkhart with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Fr. Logan Parrish will officiate the Mass and Graveside Service.
Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in South Bend.
Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be directed to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
