She was born Nov. 4, 1923, in Elkhart, to Gay and Orpha (Graves) Hart. She married Raymond W. Smith on Aug. 22, 1942. He died March 6, 2007.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara J. McIntosh of Elkhart; three grandchildren, Chad (Judy) Wenger, Curt (Renee) Wagner and Ashley McIntosh; four great-grandchildren, Brandon, Dean, Caitlyn and Tyler Wenger; a brother, Charles W. Hart of Elkhart; and a sister, Betty Lou (Robert) Reafsnyder of Canby, Ore.

There will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date with the Rev. Keith McFarren of Faith United Methodist Church officiating. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker who loved playing golf, gardening, cooking and birds.
