Mary Maxine Smith, 95, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, April 18, 2021 at Greenleaf Health Campus. Mary was born on December 3, 1925 to the late Merle F. and Mary (Silveous) Kimes.

She married her true love Billy "Bill" Smith on September 3, 1948. Bill survives, as well as a son Gary L. (Sue) Smith, Bristol and her daughter Nancy Ann Smith of Elkhart. Mary has two granddaughters Buffy Lutzke and Suzy Bennett, both of Plainfield.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Thelma Clayton, Helen Troup, Susie Olinger, Virginia Fore, Leone Buhler and 2 brothers Ralph and Jack Kimes.

Mary was a loving homemaker, enjoying gardening, growing flowers and experiencing all life has to offer.

Cremation was chosen under the care of Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart.
