ELKHART — Mary Lou Markey, 88, of Elkhart, passed away early Saturday morning, May 25, 2013, at Hubbard Hill Estates.
Mary Lou was born Jan. 25, 1925, in Hartford City to her adopted parents, the late Mahlon and Beatrice (Stauffer) Davis.
In addition to her parents, a daughter, Louana "Anne" Lucas, and brother Thomas E. Davis preceded her in death.
She married Clifton J. "Bud" Markey on July 26, 1942, in Elkhart. Bud passed on July 11, 2007.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan Frick and husband Jack of Elkhart; three grandsons, Jack A. Frick of White Pigeon, Mich., and Jon E. and Jeremy J. Frick, both of Elkhart; and nine great-grandchildren, Heather, Courtney, Tyler, Kayla, Zachary, Jacob, Matthew, Zechariah and Jasmine Frick.
Mary Lou was a homemaker and a 50-year member of Grace Lutheran Church in Elkhart. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and will be missed by her faithful dog friend, Zibby.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation was chosen. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2013, in Prairie Street Cemetery. Pastor Ed Fritug will officiate.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home.
