Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Gibson, 95, of Goshen, passed away peacefully at Greencroft Healthcare of natural causes on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 12:10 pm.
She was born October 3, 1921 in Elkhart to the late William F. and Hattie P. (Renn) Aurenz and then married Robert E. Gibson on June 24, 1946 in Crown Point, IN. He passed in 1972.
Surviving are her children Rebecca (Edward) Osowski, Robert (Pam) Gibson and Barbara (Wayne) Stutsman, all of Elkhart; grandchildren Jeffrey (Lisa) Stutsman, Kimberly, Elizabeth and Anthony Osowski and Lacy and Emmy Gibson; and great grandchildren Jaylynn and Nicholas Stutsman, Ella, Sebastian and Courtney Osowski, Erik and Brooke Carter and Harlow Gibson.
Preceding her in death are her sisters Amelia Aurenz and Catherine Russo.
In accordance with Mary's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart is honored to be assisting the family with the arrangements.
Mary was a graduate of Elkhart High School and the Ft. Wayne Beauty College; and owned and operated several beauty salons in the Goshen and Elkhart area over the years. She had also retired in the mid 1980's from CTS of Elkhart after 28 years of service. A member of the Dunlap United Methodist Church, she enjoyed volunteering her time helping with church meals and funeral dinners. She was an avid animal lover, and enjoyed playing cards.
Memorial donations may be given to the Greencroft Goshen Foundation, POB 819, Goshen, IN 46527, or the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
