Mary Helen Kurtz, 91, of Elkhart, passed away at her home on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 9:30 am.

Mary was born on July 23, 1928 to Homer and Wilma (Sumpter) Cripe in Goshen, IN. She married her husband, Calvin Kurtz on May 28, 1952.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Calvin, whom passed away on March 22, 2015;  son-in-law, Fred Dils and brother, Robert D. Cripe.

She is survived by daughters, Deb (Dan) Hawkey and Sally Dils, both of Elkhart; grandchildren, Matthew Hawkey, Julie (Andy) Cook, Philip (Vanessa) Hawkey, Joseph (Jenna) Dench and Andrew (Ashley) Dench; 9 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

Mary graduated from Goshen High School. She was a homemaker most of her life. Mary enjoyed cooking, camping, flower gardening and collecting. Most of all, she cherished her time with her grandchildren.

A private family service will be held at Billings Funeral Home, 821 Baldwin Street, Elkhart, IN with Pastor Jeremy Sarber officiating. Burial will follow at West Goshen Cemetery.
