ELKHART — Mary A. Achberger, 96, of Elkhart, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018.

She was born March 14, 1921, to the late Bruce and Fern (Masteller) Sherbondy and married the late Harold Achberger on May 30, 1941. He passed in 1997.

Surviving are her children Karen (Ron) Becker and David and Jerome Achberger, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart has been assisting Mary's family with cremation arrangements.

In accordance with her wishes, no immediate services have been planned.

Mary graduated Elkhart High School in 1939 and worked at Ziesel's Department Store in Elkhart for many years.

She also volunteered in the Senior Ladies' Activities at the "Y" and attended Granger Community Church.

Memorial donations may be given to Heartland Hospice.
