GOSHEN — Marvin Fann Sr., 85, of Goshen, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Greencroft Healthcare of natural causes.
Marvin was born Feb. 8, 1928, in Woodbury, Tenn., to Alfred and Elizabeth (Drake) Fann.
He married Norma Jean Moore. She died on Nov. 26, 1963.
Surviving are children, Marvin D. Jr. (Ilona) Fann of Elkhart, Betty Clark of Elkhart and Peggy L. (John) Luzer of Morocco, Ind.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren survive, as well as his brother, Grady (Mary Jo) Fann of Scranton, S.C. He also adopted three children, Beth Ann (Patrick) McGurn, Jason Fann and Brian Fann.
His brothers, Robert, Alfred and Claude Fann, and sisters Mary Catherine Barrett, Ludell Fann, Emma Jean Danbury and Lela Thomas preceded him in death.
Mr. Fann retired in 1990 after 38 years of service from Miles Laboratories (Bayer), where he worked in the power plant. Marvin enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, where services celebrating Marvin's life will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2013. Pastor Lee Campbell of Hope United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial and graveside services will follow in Rice Cemetery.
