ELKHART -- A memorial service for Malvin I. Neel will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at Bethel Assembly of God, 600 E. Bristol St. The Rev. Larry Lund will officiate. There will be no visitation and cremation will take place. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Neel, 62, of 2601 Oakland Ave., died at home at 10:02 a.m. Wednesday (March 28, 2007).

He was born July 5, 1944, in Batesville to Gerald and Ruth (Speer) Neel. He married Diana Henderson, who preceded him in death. He married Barbara Dick on March 30, 1979. She died March 3, 2004.

He is survived by a son, Steven Neel, and a daughter, Shelly Neel, both of Elkhart; two brothers, Paul (Shirley) Neel of Elkhart and Gerry (Diana) Neel of Palmetto, Fla.; and two sisters, Joyce Hand of Columbus, Ind., and Karen (Don) DeVore of Elkhart.

A brother, Keith Neel, died in June 1965.

Mr. Neel was a transportation driver for the railroad industry and a member of Bethel Assembly of God.
