Marvelean Mariah
Williams
May 7, 1980 – May 10, 2026
Ms. Marvelean Mariah (Bolen) Williams, 46, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away peacefully at The Brickyard Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center on Monday, May 10, 2026 at 12:25 a.m., following a lifetime of courageously battling chronic illness with extraordinary strength, grace, and determination. Though her body often struggled, her spirit never did. Marvelean faced life’s hardships with a resilient heart, an enduring sense of humor, and a fierce determination to continue loving, living, and lifting others up every chance she had.
She was born in Elkhart on May 7, 1980 to the late Douglas Bolen and Alma D. (Morgan) Sain, who survives her beloved daughter here in Elkhart. From an early age, Marvelean learned that life would require her to fight harder than most, and she met those challenges head-on with remarkable perseverance. Her illnesses and disabilities did not define her; rather, they deepened her compassion, sharpened her appreciation for life’s simplest blessings, and strengthened the kindness she so freely gave to others.
Surviving Marvelean is her deeply loved son, Angolic (Kaitlyn Klein) Bolen of Elkhart, who was the center of her world and the greatest source of her pride and joy. She is also survived by her brothers, D’Angelo Wilson, Douglas Bolen, Jr., and Dwone Hibbler, Jr., all of Elkhart; her sister, Sierra (Alfredo) Rivera of Elkhart; her grandmother, Marvelean Morgan of Elkhart; her grandfather, Charlie Hibbler of Elkhart; and a loving host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, cherished friends, and lifelong companions who will forever miss her warmth, laughter, and unforgettable personality.
And of course, no remembrance of Marvelean would be complete without mentioning her loyal and ever-present pitt-husky sidekick, Candice, who reportedly remains “too heartbroken for comment” following the loss of her best friend.
Preceding Marvelean in passing, along with her father, are grandparents Frances Hibbler, Robert A. Morgan, and Mary Simpson, as well as her precious infant daughter, Shatoria Bolen, whom Marvelean carried lovingly in her heart throughout her entire life.
In accordance with Marvelean’s wishes and the shared decision of her family, cremation will take place. A memorial celebration honoring her life will be held at Billings Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation beginning one hour prior at 12:00 noon.
Marvelean was a woman whose life radiated resilience. She understood pain intimately, yet she still chose kindness. She understood struggle, yet she still encouraged others to keep going. Those closest to her knew that even on difficult days, she could still find beauty in a sunny afternoon, comfort in music, laughter during scary movies, and peace in the simple joy of being surrounded by people she loved.
A gifted singer with a beautiful soprano voice, Marvelean proudly participated in her high school choir and loved music throughout her life, especially contemporary R&B. Music gave her joy and escape, much like the long drives she treasured whenever she had the opportunity. Rolling down the road with music playing and her thoughts drifting freely brought her a sense of peace and calm that she cherished deeply.
Marvelean also possessed an unexpectedly impressive love for automobiles, a passion likely inspired by her father. Family and friends were continually amazed by her uncanny ability to identify nearly every make and model of car she saw. It became one of her many charming trademarks and a subject she could enthusiastically discuss for hours.
She was also known for her love of horror movies, scary stories, and good food. Her homemade burritos became legendary among family and friends, especially when paired with her sister’s quesadillas — a combination that guaranteed full stomachs, loud laughter, and treasured memories around the table.
More than anything else, however, Marvelean loved people. She loved deeply, sincerely, and without hesitation. She especially adored her son, her nieces and nephews, and the many people fortunate enough to call her family or friend. Her life was a lesson in endurance, courage, and gratitude. She reminded others that strength is not always loud; sometimes it is found quietly enduring, continuing to smile, continuing to love, and continuing to hope despite every obstacle placed in your path.
Though her earthly struggles have now ended, the memory of Marvelean’s resilient spirit, compassionate heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering love will continue living on in all those whose lives she touched.
