ELKHART — Martha Washington Earl, 75, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at her home.
Martha was born Feb. 22, 1942, in Baileysville, West Virginia to Butch and Nora (Blankenship) Shannon.
She married Thomas Earl on Nov. 16, 1991, in Elkhart.
He survives as well as her five children; Juan "John" Garcia, Beloit, Wisconsin, Antonio "Tony" (Christy) Garcia of Sweetwater, Tennessee, Christopher (Stephanie) Earl, Ubie Sanchez, both of Elkhart and Samantha Earl of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren; siblings, Dixie Snyder, Cathy Elsworth and Pearl "Buddy" Shannon, all of Elkhart, Wanda Patrick of Logan, Ohio and Ray (Mildred) Shannon of Marion, along with several nieces and nephews.
Martha was co-owner of Mr. T's Bakery in Maryville, Tennesse and formerly owned Artistic Upholstering in Elkhart, and also worked at Godfrey Marine for 18 years.
She was a graduate of Baileysville High School. Martha loved cooking and baking. She was known for her legendary fudge and carrot cake. Her family always looked forward to her homemade Christmas decorations.
Martha was a giving person and loved her family.
Celebration of Life services will begin at 11a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior on Saturday, April 15, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin Street, Elkhart. Sister Nora Frost will officiate.

Martha's services are under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home.
