Mark Paskell passed away on April 23, 2026, at the age of 70 after a two-year battle with cancer. Mark was born on April 13, 1956, in Alexandria, Indiana.
Mark was the beloved son of the late Catherine and Chester Paskell of Alexandria, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Michael and Thomas Paskell, and nephew Bill Clabaugh of Alexandria, Indiana.
Mark is survived by the love of his life of 41 years, Sharon Paskell of Elkhart, IN; beloved sister Peggy Clabaugh of Alexandria, IN; son Mark A. (Angie) Paskell of Texas; two stepdaughters, Tracy (Jim) Deckler of Edwardsburg, MI, and Dawn (Rob) Mills of Las Vegas, NV, and his late stepdaughter, Kellie McDade of Elkhart, IN. He is also survived by Aunts Barb and Linda Cleaver and nieces and nephews of Alexandria, IN.
A graduate of Alexandria Monroe High School, Mark moved to Elkhart Indiana, attended Journeyman Machinist training, and earned his Journeyman's card in 1985. Mark spent 28 years at Gunite Corporation in Elkhart, Indiana, where he was highly respected for his strong career. After its closure, Mark continued his skilled work at American Axle until his retirement in 2023. Mark was an avid historian and outdoorsman who found joy in hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley-Davidson with Sharon.
Together, Mark and Sharon were blessed with 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, all of whom have special memories of him they will fondly treasure.
Mark will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and a man whose family was the center of his world. He and Sharon took great pride and joy in raising their children and building a family filled with love. He and Sharon enjoyed numerous vacations throughout their marriage, including Germany, France, and the Canary Islands. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, loyalty, hard work, and deep love for those closest to him. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
A viewing will be held on Monday, May 4th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin Street, Elkhart, IN. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 5th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at St Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 411 West Vistula St., Bristol, IN, with a Mass to follow from 11:00-12:00 p.m. officiated by Father Terry Fisher. A burial will be held at Osolo Cemetery in Elkhart, IN., immediately following Mass.
