ELKHART -- Marjorie D. Yoder, 90, of Elkhart, died of natural causes on Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010.


She was born in Sturgis, Mich., the daughter of the late Harold and Alta (Weaver) Kelso. Upon graduation from Sturgis High School, she moved to Elkhart in 1944, where she began work for a division of the IBM Corporation. For many years after her retirement, she was very active in the Midwest Museum of American Art, Tri Kappa, Elcona Country Club and volunteered for the Riverview Elementary School Library. Marjorie was a loving mother and caregiver. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Elkhart, for more than 50 years.


Marjorie was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Kelso, and her life partner, George Currier.


She is survived by two children, Christine (Ross C.) Miller of Elkhart and Gregory Yoder of McKinney, Texas; four grandchildren, Eric Nisbeth of McKinney, Todd Yoder of Fairview, Texas, Trent Yoder of Dallas, Texas, and Travis Yoder of Frisco, Texas; and six great-grandchildren, Noah Nisbeth, Jordan Yoder, Chase Yoder, Peyton Yoder, Parker Yoder and True Yoder (finally, a girl).


Arrangements are under the direction of Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Sturgis, at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, with the Rev. Corrine Hodges of St. John of the Cross Episcopal Church, Bristol, officiating. Visitation with the family will be after interment, between 1 and 4 p.m., at the home of Ross and Christine Miller.
