Marjorie Maxine Teed, 97, of Elkhart, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Rittenhouse Village at Michigan City.

Marge was born in Elkhart, IN on March 3, 1925 to the late, Robert E. Brown and Gladys (Humbarger) Brown. She was married to the love of her life, James Walter Teed on December 4, 1943 in Leesburg, FL.

Marge was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years of marriage, James Teed on June 28, 2013 and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Marge is survived by her children, Daryl (Susan) Teed of Greenwood, IN and Sharon (Tom) Keene of LaPorte, IN; 5 grandchildren, Carla (Matt) Morgan, Bryan (Angie) Teed, Andy (Carmen) Teed, T.J. (Joan) Keene and Charlie (Beth) Keene; and 17 great grandchildren.

Marge was a line worker at Miles Laboratory in Elkhart for 25 years. She and her husband were members of the First United Methodist Church in Elkhart. After retirement, Marge volunteered elementary children with reading.  In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting especially ceramics.

Marge had a competitive streak especially when it came to card games and a sense of humor. She was compassionate and fiery.

Family was everything to Marge. Marge enjoyed cooking for her family and friends especially her famous chocolate chip cookies, macaroni and cheese and tea rings She was a proud mom, grandmother and great grandmother.

Marjorie's family would like to especially thank the staff at Rittenhouse Village at Michigan City for their extended care and Heart to Heart Hospice for their aid during a very difficult time.

A Private visitation and funeral Service for Marge will be held at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514. Burial will be at Rice Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be directed to Heart to Heart Hospice, 402 Wall St., Valparaiso, IN 46383.
