Marjorie Lee Davis, 93, of Goshen, passed away Sunday morning, January 17, 2016 at Greenleaf Health Campus, Elkhart. She was born on August 15, 1922 at Fort Benjamin Harrison to Martin Luther and Ruby Lee (Thomas) Sandefur. Marjorie married Clarence D. Davis on May 17, 1941; he passed away August 12, 1975. Surviving are her children, Evon L. (Norman L.) Wingard of Elkhart, Carol S. (Lyn) Taylor of Pensacola, Fla.; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death is a son Martin Ray Davis, daughter Judy Doctor; two grandsons; a brother Eugene and her sisters Mary, Lois and Birdi. Marjorie worked at Whitehall Laboratories for 11 years, and retired from CTS after 30 years of service. Marjorie was a graduate of Lawrence (Ind.) High School and was a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church in Elkhart. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Private family graveside services will be at a later date at Violet Cemetery in Goshen. The family request memorials be given to either United Cancer Services of Elkhart County or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart.
