ELKHART -- Marilyn was called to be with her Lord on Aug. 20, 2006, at her home. She was surrounded by her family when the angels of Heaven lovingly carried her to her home of eternal rest.

Friends of Marilyn J. Meyers may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., as well as an hour before the 10 a.m. Thursday funeral at Grace Brethren Church, 24775 C.R. 20. The Rev. Chris Henshaw will officiate. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery.

Mrs. Meyers, 78, of 58017 Roys Ave., died at home at 1:15 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 20, 2006).

She was born May 16, 1928, in Elkhart, to Jess and Gertrude (Schultz) Nutting. She married Robert E. Meyers on March 4, 1946.

He survives in Elkhart, along with four daughters, Diana (Jerry) Malcolm of Elkhart, Carol (Greg) Smith of Goshen and Bobbie (Jerry) DeBoer and Mary Ann (Jeff) Blackletter, both of Elkhart; a son, Charles R. (Jackie) Meyers of Elkhart; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a sister, Phyllis (Orville) Alexander of Irons, Mich.

Two brothers and an infant son preceded her in death.

Mrs. Meyers taught piano at McDermott's and Witmer-McNease and, later, out of her home. She was a dog groomer and member of Grace Brethren Church.
