BRISTOL -- Marilou Holdeman, 81, of C.R. 8, Bristol, died at 8 a.m. Friday (Oct. 13, 2006) at Elkhart General Hospital.

She was born May 23, 1925, in Fort Wayne to William and Helen (Pauley) Wolf. She married Merle B. Holdeman on June 9, 1946, in Elkhart.

He survives, along with two sons, Paul E. Holdeman of Middlebury and Charles (Mejen) Holdeman of Elkhart; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas L. Holdeman, and a sister Margaret Vyverman.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Visitation will also be held one hour before the 1 p.m. Tuesday Mass of Christian Burial at St. John of the Cross Episcopal Church, 601 E. Vistula St., Bristol. The Rev. Richard K. Wineland will officiate and cremation will follow, with burial at Zion Cemetery at a later date.

Mrs. Holdeman, a 1943 graduate of Elkhart High School, was a former union coordinator with Selmer, retiring in 1987. She also was a personnel coordinator at Elkhart General Hospital for 21 years.

She was a member of St. John of the Cross Episcopal Church, Questors, Christian Women's Club, the Elkhart Vintage Auto Club, Mid-States Jeepster Club and Tin Lizzie Travelers Club. She collected more than 300 salt dips and spent winters in Florida with her husband.
