ELKHART — Marie M. "Mary" Stout, 89, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday morning, Oct. 13, 2011, at Golden Living Center in Mishawaka.
She was born Oct. 24, 1921, in Middlefork, Ind., to the late Glenn and Lucille (Tenary) Ridenour. Marie married Lawrence I. Stout on Nov. 16, 1972. He died Aug. 22, 1978.
Surviving are a daughter, Donna M. Dubay of Edwardsburg, Mich.; son Jimmy (Barbara Jean) Maggert of St. Augustine, Fla.; five grandchildren, Lori (Steve) VanDiepenbos of Goshen, Scott Dubay and Stacy LeVan of Edwardsburg, Jason (Melanie) Bronke of Mottville, Jaime Rienks and Lisa Rienks of Elkhart and Justin (Jenell) Bronke of Plymouth. Also surviving are 12 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Helen Soos of Granger and Shirley DeBoe of South Bend.
Preceding her in death was her son, Larry Maggert; son-in-law Gary Dubay; brother-in-law Bill Soos; two brothers; two sisters; and two infant children.
Marie was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Northside Church of the Nazarene and formerly worked at The Proof Co. and Judson's Nursery in Goshen and G.L. Perry, Elkhart. She enjoyed bowling and square dancing.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, and for one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart. Pastor Oscar Sheets will officiate with burial following at Rice Cemetery.
