Marian Frances Waid, of Elkhart, passed away Monday afternoon, Nov. 13, 2017 at the Elkhart Hospice House, with her family at her side. She was 97 years of age.

She was born on Aug. 30, 1920 in Noblesville, to the late Ralph and Lucile (Jessup) Pritchard. She married Earl H. Waid on Sept. 11, 1948 in Hibbing, Minnesota. Earl died Nov. 9, 1979.

Surviving is a daughter Cynthia L. Templeton; two loving granddaughters, Juanita (Joseph) Heckman and Bonita (Nicholas) Sparrow; six great grandchildren, Alexandra, Gwenyth, Declan, Bryce, Ethan, Aiden, and another expected soon.

A son, Keith Waid and sister, Edith Bennett preceded her in death.

Marian graduated from Hobart High School. The family then moved to Minnesota. She graduated with a BA from the North Central Bible Institute; it was there she met her husband Earl.

Marian moved back to the Elkhart area in 1969, she worked as a bookkeeper for many years at ECM Phototooling, Inc. well into her 90s. She was a member of Radiant Life Church, and loved to crochet, needlepoint and crocheted many baby blankets over the years. She also loved music and I.U. and Purdue basketball.

Services celebrating Marian's life will begin at 12 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at the Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. Visitation for relatives and friends will start at 10 a.m. Pastor John Utley of Radiant Life Church will officiate. Per her wishes, cremation will follow the services, with burial at a later date at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
