EDWARDSBURG: Marian Sue Barella, 84, laid to rest on Monday, December 25, 2017 at her home.

Sue was born in South Bend, Indiana, but resided in Edwardsburg, Michigan. Sue was born on June 7, 1933 to Harry and Hazel Allison.

Surviving are sons, Steve Barella, Joey Checkley and daughter, Lori "Ellen" Carson; 11 loving grandchildren, Stormie Barella, Skye Barella, Cade Barella, Stephen (April) Carson, Tyler (Ashley) Carson, Austin Meadows, Jackie Barella, Amanda Barella, Kailee Checkley, Dusty Cooper, and Drew Cooper; 9 great grandchildren; sisters Audrey Morehouse and Delores Glaske. In addition to her parents, son Raymond Scott Barella, brothers Loren and Harry Allison, sisters Jeanette Morehouse, Joyce McElvin, and former husband Stephen A. Barella Jr. preceded Sue in death. Sue loved all people, and was the life of any party. She was an awesome grandmother. Sue had a passion for the Notre Dame football team. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Edwardsburg American Legion Post 365. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the 4:00 PM, December 29, 2017, Celebration of Life service for Sue at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. Pastor Dale Hamrick will officiate. Following the service, dinner will be served at the Edwardsburg American Legion Post 365. Per her wishes, cremation was chosen.  Please kindly direct memorial donations to her family.
