She was born Dec. 6, 1916, in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico, to Filipe and Sista (Garcia) Marquez. She married Trinidad Marquez, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son, Martin Marquez of Elkhart; four daughters, Petra Marquez of Long Beach, Calif., Manuela Marquez of Elkhart, and Lorenza and Julia Marquez, both of Mexico; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. A vigil service will take place at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1108 S. Main St., Elkhart, with the Rev. Wilson Corzo officiating. Cremation will follow.

Mrs. Marquez was a homemaker and a woman of faith who enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and extended family.
