Maria Angelina Galeano Carias, 76, of Goshen, passed away peacefully from an extended illness on Friday, September 8, 2023 at the home of her daughter while she was visiting from Honduras.

Maria was born in Puzunca, Honduras on August 23, 1947 and was born to the late Marcial de Jesus Galeano and Julia Carias Cebilla. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her parents, her spouse (of 45 years) Santos Catalino Rosales Ortiz and a brother, Juan F. Flores Galeano.

Surviving Maria are her daughters Angela M. Rosales Galeano; Norma Jeticia Caceres, Francisca Magdelina Galeano and Maria A. Rosales Galeano; sons Santos G Rosales Galeano, Juan A. Rosales Galeano, Henri C. Rosales Galeano, Marcial DeJesus Rosales Galeano and Juan Francisco Galeano; numerous loving grandchildren and a host of extended family and wonderful friends.

Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart will host Maria's remembrance service on Saturday, September 16, 2023 with a visitation beginning there at 12 pm followed by the service scheduled for 2:00 pm. The Reverend Carlos Hernandez, a family friend, will officiate Maria's services and then she will be returned home to Honduras to be buried in her motherland.

Maria was a lovely lady with a beautiful soul who loved the simple splendor of life and nature. She loved all things, great and small, and felt only kindness and compassion for those she knew and loved. She was also a sincere lover of animals.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the family to assist with the repatriation of Maria to her home country.
