She was born Aug. 29, 1918, in Beaverton, Mich., to Vernon and Winifred (Rinehart) Ort. She married Robert W. "Bob" Brandon on Feb. 3, 1946, in Elkhart.

He survives along with one daughter, Beth (Todi) Velkoff of Elkhart; and one granddaughter, Janelle Velkoff of Elkhart.

Friends may call one hour prior to Friday's 2 p.m. funeral service in Hubbard Hill Chapel, Hubbard Hill Estates, Elkhart. The Rev. Orville Banks of Hubbard Hill will officiate. Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery, Elkhart. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is assisting with arrangements.

Mrs. Brandon was a 1937 graduate of Elkhart High School, attended Butler University, Indianapolis, and graduated from South Bend College of Commerce in 1939. She was a secretary in the export department of Miles Laboratories until her marriage in 1946. Mrs. Brandon was an avid reader and volunteered at Wendell Foster's Campus for Developmental Disabilities in Owensboro, Ky., where she spent most of her married life. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Elkhart, and Settle Memorial Methodist Church, Owensboro.
