ELKHART — Marcia L. Hopper, 66, of Elkhart, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Elkhart.
She was born April 3, 1946, in Elkhart to Merrill and Mary (Lehman) Bock. On Oct. 17, 1964, she married Grover R. Hopper in Elkhart. He passed away Dec. 5, 2001.
Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Radican of Elkhart; son Richard (Jenny) Hopper of Elkhart; longtime companion Gilbert Cardoza of Bristol; brother Tom (Clarice) Bock of Elkhart; sisters Norma Bennett of North Liberty, Phyllis Davis of Naples, Fla., and Jan (Cliff) Schalliol of Elkhart; and grandchildren Chris Radican of Elkhart, Jesse Radican of Lawton, Okla., and Aric and Evan Hopper, both of Elkhart. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Long.
Marcia was a 1964 graduate of Elkhart High School. She was employed at Elkhart General Hospital for more than eight years and most recently worked as a cafeteria manager at Elkhart County High School for more than 15 years.
The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the 4 p.m. funeral service Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor John Hogsett of Faith United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment of her cremated remains will take place at a later date in Adamsville Cemetery in Edwardsburg, Mich.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
