Obituary

UNION, Mich. — MaDonna J. "Doni" Duffy, 48, of Union, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home Wednesday, Nov. 30.

She was born Nov. 11, 1968, in Flint, to the late Bertrand and Betty (Stancil) Duffy, and is survived at home by her significant other, Kenneth H. "Ken" Orem Jr.

Also surviving are her son, Austin H. Orem of Union; sister Susan (Roger) Kreighbaum of Elkhart; brother Roger (Tammie) Duffy of Bristol; her uncle, David Stancil of Elkhart; five nieces; one nephew; and 12 great-nieces and nephews.

A sister-in-law, Stacey Goodman, recently preceded her in death.

Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart is honored to host Doni's memorial visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place.

Although Doni was a homemaker at the time of her passing, she had spent most of her life in healthcare profession, where she started out in home and facility care and then went on to be a unit secretary at Elkhart General Hospital for many years.

She also drove a school bus for several years with the Edwardsburg School System.

She lived life to the fullest and loved fast cars, the Michigan Wolverines and Rock and Roll.

In her free time, she enjoyed fishing, catching her favorite reality shows on TV and shopping.

She also held an associate's degree in healthcare from Southern Michigan College.

Memorial donations may be given to the MaDonna J. Duffy Memorial Fund, in care of her family.
