ELKHART -- Madelana Quiroz, 58, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born May 19, 1952, in Detroit, Mich., to Pedro and Theresa (Celestino) Quiroz Sr. They preceded her in death.
Surviving are four sons, William Quiroz of Elkhart, Robert Quiroz of Milwaukee, Wis., and Jose Quiroz Sr. and Philip Quiroz, both of Elkhart; two sisters, Anita (Leonard) Albany of Detroit and Sylvia Haggerty (husband Angelo Aleman) of Athens, Mich., and two brothers, Pedro (Linda) Quiroz Jr. and David (Veronica) Quiroz, both of Detroit; nine grandchildren, Brittanie Jones and Dalin Goodwin, both of Battle Creek, Mich., Jose Quiroz Jr. of Elkhart, Makiyah Quiroz of Indianapolis, Brittany Gipson and Bre'Asha Quiroz, both of Elkhart, Layonda Sutton of Toledo, Ohio, Zarriah Quiroz of Indianapolis and Devlyn Quiroz of Elkhart; and longtime partner Danny Gipson of Elkhart.
Madelana was a loving homemaker who enjoyed traveling often and spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to Saturday's 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1108 S. Main St., Elkhart. The Rev. Glenn Kohrman will officiate. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
