Obituary

WAKARUSA — M. Ruth Cook, 94, of Wakarusa, passed away from natural causes at 2:05 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa.

She was born in Fowler on Dec. 2, 1919, to the late Cecil and Ada (Robbins) Hogan.

In 1943 she married Carl W. Cook in San Francisco. He passed away in Elkhart in 2004. Also preceding Ruth in death was her brother, Robert Hogan.

Surviving are her son, Craig (Paula) Cook of Marietta, Ga.; her daughter Connie (Rick) Dexter of Charlevoix, Mich.; her sister Margaret Nimau of San Francisco, and her sister-in-law Carol Hogan of Elkhart. Five grandchildren survive as well.

Ruth was a 1942 graduate of St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Lafayette and was a registered nurse. She was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Elkhart and had resided at Miller's Merry Manor in Wakarusa for the last 8 years.

In accordance to the family's wishes, no visitation or services have been scheduled and cremation will take place. Arrangements have been placed under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart.
