Lura E. Woodfin, 92, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, April 23, 2023 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 15, 1930 in Athens, Alabama to the late Howard and Elsie (Malone) Hargrove. She married Junior L. Woodfin on January 4, 1949 in Athens. Junior died on November 28, 2003 in Elkhart.

Surviving are her children, son Jamie Woodfin, and two daughters Judy Nusbaum and Jeraldine "Dean" Myrick. 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; also, a brother Harold (Joyce) Hargrove survives as well. Lura was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bill Hargrove and 3 sisters, Kathy Haggerty, Shirley (Everett) Alwine and Reba Ferguson.

Lura worked for many years as a machine operator at Kaiser Aluminum and was the former owner/operator of the Star Grill in Elkhart. Lura enjoyed fishing and playing Bingo.

There will be no public visitation.  Friends may gather at Billings Funeral Home on Friday, from Noon to 12:30 p.m. A procession will then leave for the 1:00 p.m. graveside service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
