ELKHART -- Louise Griffin, 57, of Elkhart, died at 3:22 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 16, 2008) in her home.


She was born March 5, 1951, in Bell City, Mo., to Louis and Myrtle (Mackey) Jackson. On Dec. 10, 1969, she married Henry Griffin Jr. in Elkhart.


He survives along with one son, Schuyler Griffin of Elkhart; her mother of Houston; one sister, Betty Sanders of Houston; and six brothers, Charles (Sherry), Henry E., Mitchell, Donnie, Tim and Steve Jackson, all of Houston.


She was preceded in death by one daughter, Kimberly Griffin; one son, Jade Griffin; and her father.


Mrs. Griffin was a 1960 graduate of Elkhart High School and a top honors 1970 graduate of Carter's Secretary School. She worked as an administrative assistant at Skyline Corp., Dometic Corp., Ship Pac and Am Fab before becoming ill and retiring. She enjoyed flowers, doing crossword and word-search puzzles and being with friends and family.


Friends may call one hour prior to Friday's noon funeral service at the Church Without Walls, 731 Wagner Ave., Elkhart. Pastors Jonathan and Cora Brown will officiate. A graveside service and burial will be in Little Pine Cemetery, Goshen.


Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is assisting with arrangements.
