He was born Jan. 29, 1939, in South Bend to Chester and Pearl (Willard) Kane. He married Dorothy E. Sutterby on June 14, 1969, in Elkhart.
She survives along with four daughters, Isabell (Thomas) Mabie, April Willard and Bobbie (Willie) Allen, all of Elkhart, and Goldie (Darwin) Rhoades of Plymouth; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley (Richard) Brown and Nellie Walsh, both of South Bend; and three brothers, Leo Kane of New Mexico and Earl and Harold Kane, both of Elkhart.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor B.J. Bishop of Elkhart Church of God officiating. Cremation has taken place.
Mr. Kane retired from AM General, Mishawaka, after 10 years of service. He enjoyed gardening.
