ELKHART -- Lois L. Taylor, 86, of Lake Drive, died at 11:35 p.m. Sunday (July 1, 2007) in Hospice House in South Bend after a battle with cancer.

She was born Oct. 31, 1920, to Earl and Gladys (Brown) Boyer in Elkhart. She married Jack L. Taylor in Elkhart on April 6, 1943. He died June 24, 2006.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by two sons, Ron (Sue) Taylor and Dan (Sandy) Taylor, both of Elkhart; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Boyer.

Friends may call two hours prior to the 11 a.m. memorial service July 12 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Pastor Jay Morris, visitation pastor with St. Paul's United Methodist Church, will officiate. Cremains will be interred in Prairie Street Cemetery Veterans Tower after the service.

Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker and formerly worked for CTS Corp. during the war years. She also worked in the Osolo Township Assessor's office for several years. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Married Women's Club and Four Arts Club, all in Elkhart.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening and boating on Simonton Lake, where she could be seen in her paddle boat enjoying the water. She lived on the lake for more than 64 years.
