ELKHART — Lloyd Kelley Jr., 86, of Elkhart, was taken home to be with his Lord on Thursday, Nov. 12, while at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Sept. 2, 1929, in Detroit, to Lloyd Kelley Sr. and Dorothy (Hess) Kelley-Kunkle.
Survivors include his wife, Joan B. (Kane) Kelley of Elkhart; three sons, Mike (Vicky) Kelley of Bristol, Ron (Denise) Kelley of Elkhart and Bob Kelley of San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Laura (Mark) McInturf of Morristown, Tenn.; one brother, Sonny "Roy" (Ruth Ann) Kelley of Florida; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Elias; and one brother, George Kelley.
Lloyd proudly served in the U. S. Air Force for three years and later served with the U.S. Army 11th Airborne Division based in Fort Campbell, Ky., during the Korean War. Lloyd was employed at NIBCO for several years and was later employed as a supervisor at Conn-Selmer prior to his retirement in 1991.
In addition to being an avid golfer, he enjoyed playing table tennis, coaching Little League and officiating as a city basketball referee. He was a member of Elkhart Moose Lodge No. 599 and a member of Northside Church of the Nazarene, Elkhart.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the noon celebration of life service Monday, Nov. 16, at Elkhart Northside Church of the Nazarene, 53569 C.R. 7, Elkhart. Pastor Tim Sheets will officiate.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elkhart DAV 19 in memory of Lloyd.
