ELKHART -- An open house to celebrate the life of Lloyd Baker will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2011, at his home, 29015 Lantz Blvd., Elkhart.

ELKHART -- Lloyd Baker, 72, passed away Saturday (June 25, 2011) at his home.
He was born Feb. 20, 1939, in Knox County, Ky., to the late Dexter and Fannie Baker. He married Cynthia A. Kushnerick on Aug. 12, 2008. They had been together for more than 30 years.
Surviving are his wife, Cindy, of Elkhart; daughters Susie Tate of South Bend and Barbara (Phil) Yike of Elkhart; step-sons Kris (Elizabeth) Seymore and Kevin Seymore, both of Elkhart; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters as well.
He was preceded in death by a son, John Baker.
He will be greatly missed by his pug Milo.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place, with a memorial gathering at a later date at the family home.
Lloyd retired from Federal Press as a tool & die maker. He also worked as a truck driver and mechanic and was a chef for many years at the Elcona County Club and Lucchese's Restaurant. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Notre Dame fan.
