June 6, 1968 - June 13, 2011
ELKHART -- Lisa Marie Hall, 43, of Elkhart, passed away Monday, June 13, 2011, at the Elkhart Hospice House.
She was a courageous warrior who fought a valiant battle against cancer.
Lisa was born June 6, 1968, into the marriage of Frances (Hull) Hunter and John Setty. From the moment she was born, she had a special light about her. Kindness, empathy, humor and love radiated from her and back to her. Her smile was as brilliant as the shooting stars she loved.
Lisa's greatest call was motherhood. Her 3-year-old son, Dakota Gregory Hall, was definitely the light of her life. In the worst of times, Dakota was her best medicine.
Other survivors include her mother, Fran (Don Potterbaum) Hunter; significant other Quition Veatch; uncles Curt (Barb) Hull and Jerry (Debbie) Hull; aunts Sue (Carl) Smith, Angie (Brad) Feitusch and Vickie (David) Patton; and many beloved cousins.
Lisa was preceded in death by her brother and best friend, Gregory John Hall, and her maternal grandparents, Curtis and Marilyn Hull.
Living in Elkhart all of her life, Lisa graduated from Jimtown High School and Ball State University. She was employed for many years at her mother's family business, Hunter's Place. It is here that she made so many of her precious friends.
She was an avid collector of Barbies, butterflies and all things Disney. She loved to read and especially loved to read to Dakota. Above all, she knew how to live as she encouraged us to share that zest for life.
Lisa had a special gift for showing her family and friends how much she loved them. We will honor that gift in a celebration of life service from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011, at the home of Sue and Carl Smith, 58859 Sun Gold Blvd., Goshen, IN 46528. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
A memorial fund has been set up for Dakota Hall at Indiana Community Bank, 303 S. Third St., Elkhart, IN 46514
