Lindia Sue (Cripe) Barrett, 63, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her side following a brief but courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017. She was born Aug. 21, 1954 in Elkhart and was raised by the late Aaron and Terry (Hostetler) Denton. On Feb. 27, 1998, she married Mark R. Barrett in Elkhart. He survives at home.

Also surviving are her sons Michael and Matthew (Melissa) Thomas, both of Warsaw; her sister Connie (Rev. Dale) Hart of Idaville; and grandchildren Kylie, Kenadi, Chloe, Christopher, Katelynn and Lilie. Preceding her in death is a sister, Trisha Wood.

Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart is honored to host the celebration of Lindia's life beginning with a viewing on Sunday, Nov 26, 2017 from 11 am – 1 pm, followed by a service at 1:00 pm officiated by her brother-in-law, the Rev. Dale Hart. Cremation will follow services.

Lindia was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, taking nature walks with her husband, Mark, doing arts and crafts and playing all types of card games. Despite her illness, her smile and grace sent a message to all who knew her that love conquers all.
