FISHERS — Linda Jane Shantz, 72, of Fishers and formerly of Elkhart, passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.

She was born Aug. 18, 1941, in Princeton to James F. and Clara (Powers) Hayden. On July 12, 1963, she married the love of her life, Dean L. Shantz, in Elkhart.

In addition to her husband of 50 years, survivors include her daughter, Shellie (Derek) Redelman of Indianapolis; son Douglas Shantz of Avon, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Katelyn, Hayden and Grace Redelman, all of Indianapolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Larry and James Hayden.

Linda was employed for more than 17 years as the VA coordinator for educational benefits at Ferris State University.

Visitation and services will be from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Randall and Roberts Funeral Home, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers. Pastor Kevin Mc-Kinney of Fishers United Methodist Church will officiate. Following the services in Fishers, cremation will take place at Altera Cremation Services. Her cremated remains will be buried in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola at a later date .
