Linda A. Schwier, 78, of Elkhart, passed away on Friday afternoon, May 5, 2017 at Elkhart Hospice House. Linda was born on March 1, 1939 in Brook, Indiana to the late Wilbur and Ruth (Penny) Burton. She married Russell R. Schwier on July 6, 1957 in Goodland. He died October 15, 1998. Surviving are their 6 children, sons, Michael E., Thomas L. and Brian J. Schwier, daughters, Donna J. Schwier, Cathy A. Schwier and Teresa M. (David) Lincoln; 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Bill and Larry Burton. In addition to her parents and husband Russell, brothers Phil and John Burton preceded her in death. Linda worked for 20 years for the Kent Co. in Elkhart. She was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church. She was an avid BINGO player, loved flowers, birds, shopping and going to yard sales. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 11, at 11:00 am with 1 hour calling at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church. Rev. Zachary Barry will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart.
