UNION, Mich. — Letty Ann Buys, 44, of Union, passed away at her home at 7:15 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, after a five-year battle with cancer.
She was born in South Bend, Ind., on Aug. 15, 1967, to the late Leland and Wilma (Yeakey) Runyon. She married John A. Buys on March 27, 2001, in Union.
He survives at home along with sons Samuel W. Wick and Chance A. Buys, both of Union; daughter Jennifer L. (Joshua) Allen of Elkhart, Ind.; twin sister Lillian A. Granning of Elkhart; brothers Alfred and Bobby (Cheryl) DeWitt, both of Rockford, Henry and Leland (Ruth Ann) DeWitt, as well as Norman Yeakey and Virgil Runyon, all of Elkhart, Stan Yeaky and Jeffrey Runyon of Edwardsburg; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip DeWitt.
A memorial celebration will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Union, 15360 Mason St., Union. In accordance with Letty's wishes, cremation has taken place. Billings Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
She had worked as a materials handler at Earthway Products in Bristol, Ind.
