ELKHART -- Lester W. O'Bryant, 76, of Elkhart, passed away at his home at 9:35 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, after an extended illness.
He was born to Joseph and Garnet (Baker) O'Bryant on Apr. 1, 1934, in Osceola, and married Marie S. Stoner in 1961 in Elkhart. She survives at home.
Also surviving are sons Michael (Sue) Heintz of St. Petersburg, Fla., Stephen (Laurie) Heintz of Bristol and Paul O'Bryant of Syracuse; daughters Donna (Donald) Lenhart of Goshen and Jan (Harold) Meyers of LaGrange; sister Thelma Friesner of Orlando, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by brothers Clarence and Bill O'Bryant and sister Betty McCreary.
A private memorial service will be Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, where his cremated remains will be placed in a mausoleum niche at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. Msgr. Michael E. Heintz, Ph.D., of St. Matthew Cathedral in South Bend will officiate. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is handling arrangements.
