Mr. Herron was a lifelong truck driver who carried oversized loads across the country. He was a member of the Middlebury American Legion Post and was an avid NASCAR fan. Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhart Jr. were two of his favorite drivers. Although he enjoyed tinkering in his garage, his greatest love was spending time with his family and being on the road driving. He was a U.S. Army veteran during the post-Korean/pre-Vietnam years.

Memorials may be given to the United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
