ELKHART — Leona B. Minegar, 92, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully of natural causes at her home on Tuesday, April 5.
She was born in Elkhart on Jan. 10, 1924, to the late Ezra and Nina (Scharrer) Wilhelm. She married Robert Minegar in Elkhart in 1942. He passed away in 2005.
Surviving are her sons, Dennis (Patricia) Minegar of Middlebury and Steven (Becky) Minegar of Sumter, S.C.; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Leona's life will be celebrated at Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart beginning from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 7, with a one hour prior visitation, followed by a service there at 11 a.m. Friday, April 8. Pastor Bob Culp of Elkhart's Grace Brethren Church will officiate and burial will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery in Elkhart.
Leona worked over 20 years in the lunch room for Concord schools. She enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, sewing, gardening and cooking; and was a member of Grace Brethren Church.
